Musical Theatre Benefits!
- Dance
Dance keeps both the body and the brain active, vital for growing children.
Dance ensures you have healthy bones and muscles, improves your body strength and flexibility, and gives you great posture and balance.
Each class starts with an aerobic warm-up, to get the heart rate going and warm up the body. In the centre, students participate in floor work and learn new techniques.
Each class finishes with a fun routine. A routine would be worked on for a number of weeks so students have the opportunity to improve and feel more confident with their performance.
Dance teachers introduce students to a variety of styles from musical theatre to street dance and everything in between. It is important to use music that the students enjoy
- Singing
Singing exercises help to improve children’s quality of speech and encourage good vocal technique. Singing enriches a child’s understanding of music and introduces them to a variety of musical styles.
Whilst singing, you exercise your lungs, tone up your intercostal muscles, diaphragm and facial muscles, open up your sinuses and respiratory tubes, and improve your posture. A singing work out!
Learning the main song of the session involves learning the tune, harmonies, understanding the text and creating a performance.
Songs from a variety of genres are taught to keep the children engaged, taking into consideration the interests of the group.
- Drama
Through drama games, children improve their concentration and listening skills.
Drama helps to develop language & communication skills. Many themes are introduced in drama which help the children to understand the world around them.
