• Young People’s Arts Classes in Gravesend

Walk Tall Junior AcademyAcademy 2
Walk Tall junior academy is set up for children aged 7 – 11 who enjoy activities such as Art, Drama, TV and Film, Dance and Musical Theatre. The students choose which activities they’d like to take part in. Classes run from 10am to 2pm on a Saturday.

• Theatre Company

These are classes for 12 – 17 year olds who love acting in its purest form – on stage. Theatre Company Students get the chance to work on a number of acting techniques, including vital voice and movement skills, while also helping to shape the content of their play.

We’ve had great fun so far with shows like Peter Pan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in da Club and most recently Animal Farm. Come and join the adventure every Tuesday 5pm – 7pm.

• Walk Tall STAR Programme

This is an amazing opportunity for anyone aged 12 – 18 to be a part of the STAR Programme and tour the county!

You will learn how to deliver pieces of theatre relating to a variety of issues which are important to young people such as relationships, bullying, drugs and more.

All of this is done through workshop style sessions using drama games and performance techniques, and crafting powerful, original performances to be taken out on tour. So if you fancy meeting new people and touring the county while having a ton of fun – even gaining a level 2 BTEC in peer education if you want – then join us every Thursday 4:30 till 7:00.

• Part-time Professional Actor Training

This is an intensive 1 year at Walk Tall Gravesend, a part time acting course which offers a practical introduction to the fundamental training for the professional actor as part of a working Repertory Theatre Company.

This is a unique course which develops new skills through practical workshops and master classes, that then gives you the chance to use your new skills as part of Walk Tall’s Repertory Theatre Company, performing in various plays and events at a multitude of different venue, including of cause, The Refinery Theatre.

Walk Tall Company plays a major role in the region’s art scene and this is a fantastic chance to network with agents and other theatre professionals.

In addition to Walk Tall’s Gravesend charitable services, we also provide numerous professional theatre, music and arts services – with every penny raised being used to help fund our charitable services.

Our Gravesend premises houses its own studio theatre – The Old Metal Refinery Theatre – which has a regular programme of shows and entertainment.
